Well, here I go, dragging Mike with me on a Saturday shopping! I know it is not his favorite thing to do, but he is always a good sport and we do enjoy adventures in Singapore. So we hopped on an MRT and got off at Bugis then walked to Arab street. There were shops and shops and SHOPS of batik and silk material and it was beautiful. Then there were shops and shops of carpets and rugs... You know the kind like Aladdin rides on... They looked just like them and were so very plush! They had so many restaurants there as well, lots of pastry shops and gelato as well as Muslim food that looked really good. We were still full from the breakfast that I cooked so we didn't eat anything... Next time we will go there hungry! There was also a mosque there that was very ornate. The people in that area were very nice to us and we bought some great gifts. There was an awesome lacquer place that sold beautiful pieces... I wanted everything! We had a great day together and came home and spent the evening watching Netflix movies! It is so great to be with Mike in such an interesting place... We are always on an adventure and as long as we can be together then we are great anywhere.

Bugis Street Shopping in Singapore
Well we spent a quiet weekend in Singapore and decided to just do a little street shopping so we headed to the MRT and ended up on Bugis Street. It was an amazing place with every type of food imaginable! We managed to find McDonald's which seems to be on every street corner here, and had some ice cream. We also saw a great bakery that sells moon cakes that are beautifully decorated and famous here. Walking around was quite a chore as some small streets were packed (and I literally mean PACKED) with people. Mostly there were local clothes which seemed to be made by local designers. If I want to buy any clothes here, I need to lose quite a few pounds and dress sizes! Everything here is geared toward the Asian sized woman... And that is not me! But we had fun just walking and looking and being together.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for Our 32nd Anniversary
Well here we go on another adventure. Since Singapore is celebrating it's 48th birthday... We decided to take this time off to go on another trip... To Kuala Lumpur (KL) and celebrate our 32nd anniversary. Wow, I cannot believe that we have been married 32 years! We have raised two wonderful kids and have had an amazing life together. So we headed out on Air Asia which is a cheap, no frills airline and after an hour flight and an hour taxi drive, we arrived at our hotel. We stayed at E & O Residences which is an amazing high end place that was quite a surprise indeed! Our view was of the KL Observation Tower. After settling in we were greeted by a very nice driver and were shown the city... It was much better than Batam but not as nice as Singapore. We went shopping at Central Market where we found some great gifts at the street market. Then we went for supper at the KL Tower. The restaurant is revolving and has amazing city views. The food was great and the company with Mike was even better! We then went to the famous Petronas Towers and WOW was I impressed! It was a great anniversary! We went back to Petronas Towers the next day and there is a large mall in the bottom of the towers... We walked all over the city and did some more street shopping. It was a very relaxing and fun place to be! If you are in Asia, make time to go to Kuala Lumpur!
