Merlion and Marina Bay Sands

Well another day with another adventure here in Singapore. We decided to get on the train and go to see the Merlion. Singapore actually means "lion city" and the Merlion is the symbol because it was the mythical beast that was seen when the first people discovered the island. So we walked, and walked... And walked some more until we arrived at the Merlion. It was definitely worth the walk! Then the Navy was actually putting on a water show in the bay that we were able to watch. Since Singapore's national holiday is soon (like July 4th for us) they have all sorts of shows and music and festivals now. The children from different schools were there playing music from their bands. They sure were young! The instruments were larger than the kids... And they were quite good! We then walked to Marina Bay Sands Hotel, Casino, and Mall - this is the huge building that looks like a ship is on top! It is an amazing place with lots of beautiful architecture and water features. We had a wonderful day and walked over six miles! My feet are so tired!

The first few pictures are riding the train and shopping in "little India" at Mustafa's. Talk about culture shock... Makes me really appreciate home! Love to all!
